The Financial Counseling Specialist is responsible for assisting patients in understanding and managing their financial obligations related to healthcare services. Focuses on reviewing benefits, estimating patient liabilities, and facilitating payment arrangements while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. Obtains and verifies patient insurance and financial information, calculates estimates for out-of-pocket costs, and collects payments at the point of service. Explains financial assistance programs. Guides patients through application processes. Addresses inquiries regarding billing and coverage. Maintains accurate account documentation, performs daily cash reconciliation, and collaborates with internal teams to ensure proper handling of regulatory forms and patient notifications. Engages patients through in-person financial consultations at the patient’s bedside to explain coverage, costs, and available assistance program.
