About The Position

Field Engineering Specialist is responsible for operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of the complete spectrum of avionics systems and proprietary communication systems on various single and multi-engine aircraft. Essential Functions: Maintains, repairs, tests and/or calibrates various types of aircraft electronic equipment and related devices such as transmitters, amplifiers, receivers, RF distribution equipment, computer controllers, and workstations.  Applies technical knowledge of electronic principles and strong knowledge in troubleshooting techniques to determine avionics malfunctions and restore aircraft to full operational status.  Installs and maintains Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) modifications to the aircraft and advises operations and maintenance personnel on their use.  Performs work in accordance with technical manuals, schematics, engineering drawings, and written/verbal instructions. Apply knowledge and understanding of operational procedures, inspection requirements, troubleshooting, and maintenance techniques to aircraft communications/navigation and ancillary electronics systems. Utilize a variety of aircraft test equipment, technical publications, and schematics. In-depth knowledge of aircraft avionics operation, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection. Experience with a wide range of technical reference material from commercial/OEM manuals to blueprints/engineering drawings. Must be willing and able to travel between 30-50% both international and domestic. Physical requirements of the job include lifting, bending, and climbing. Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with four (4) years of experience with Aircraft avionics operation, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection.
  • Graduate Degree with two (2) years of experience with Aircraft avionics operation, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of eight (8) years of experience with Aircraft avionics operation, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance at the time of hire with eligibility to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft avionics operation, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection.
