Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1-year collections, cash application, or general accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of general accounting principles and procedures.
  • Excellent customer service and problem resolution skills.
  • Technical aptitude for working with various financial systems and software.
  • Excellent grammar, verbal and writing skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, resourceful and well organized.
  • Ability to perform multi-faceted tasks in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of collections procedures, policies, and standards.
  • Basic data entry/10-key skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office with a high degree of focus in Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate application of customer cash receipts to the accounts receivable sub-ledger.
  • High volume data entry of customer cash receipts.
  • Download, review, and post all lockbox, checks, wire transfers, and electronic fund payments daily.
  • Identify and communicate discrepancies in payments received.
  • Prepare and process credit card payments.
  • Track lock box deposits and report discrepancies to Accounts Receivable Manager.
  • Reconcile general ledger to accounts receivable sub-ledger daily.
  • Interact with Accounts Receivable Department to resolve related matters.
  • Research and report issues to management.
  • Escalate issues regarding unapplied cash to A/R Management, Sales, and Finance.
  • Maintain good attendance and safe work practices.
  • Safeguard confidential company information.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
