About The Position

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Special Procedures Technologist for a full-time, permanent opportunity in Hermitage, Tennessee. Cardiovascular Technologists / Special Procedures Technologists demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients served. In this role, you will scrub and assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral angiographic procedures while supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. This position is responsible for recording and monitoring procedures, understanding hemodynamic measurements and valve area readings, and ensuring strict adherence to sterile technique and regulatory standards throughout all cases.

Requirements

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) certification through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), OR ability to obtain within one year of hire OR Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification as RT(R)
  • ARRT, RCES, or RCIS certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within six months of hire
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Special Procedures, Cath Lab, or EP Lab preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and staff

Responsibilities

  • Perform contrast media administration according to age- and weight-specific guidelines
  • Set up sterile trays and maintain a sterile field according to hospital protocol
  • Scrub and assist interventional physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures
  • Demonstrate knowledge of medications including actions, side effects, and contraindications
  • Start and maintain IV access and accurately follow physician orders
  • Document exam completion in Meditech, scan required documents, and verify images in PACS
  • Properly measure, handle, and dispose of radioactive waste in accordance with regulatory guidelines
