About The Position

AGM's Special Packager is responsible for preparing custom and specialized packaging solutions to ensure products are protected, compliant, and shipment-ready. This role involves building and packing crates and containers for sensitive or high-value items while following detailed work instructions, safety standards, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and experienced in industrial or manufacturing environments, with a strong understanding of packaging materials, tools, and damage-prevention techniques.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • At least one year of experience working in a manufacturing environment; experience in industrial packaging, crating or shipping is preferred but not required.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to closely follow work instructions, packaging specifications, contract requirements, bills of material (BOMs), and customer specifications
  • Basic mathematic skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on occasion, and to sit and stand for long hours
  • Must be eligible to work in a regulated manufacturing environment and adhere to strict safety, quality and compliance standards
  • Any job offer is contingent on the candidate successfully passing a drug and nicotine screening.
  • This position requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or status as a U.S. Person as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
  • This is strictly an onsite-only position, meaning there is no remote work available for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Reads work assignments with minimal supervision and packages all AGM products per AGM’s and customers’ packaging specifications.
  • Operates required machinery and makes minor calibration adjustments when needed.
  • Informs AGM’s Production Supervisor of any maintenance or supply needs for the department.
  • Meets or exceeds pars on a regular basis.
  • Is responsible for asking the Special Packaging Line Supervisor if there is any problem with using the materials that have been issued.
  • Completes all paperwork accurately in accordance with AGM’s and customers’ specifications.
  • Keeps work area clean; reports or corrects any unsafe condition in a timely manner.
  • Assists with production work as necessary in the Valves and Desiccator departments.
