Requirements

• High school diploma or 1 year manufacturing experience
• Forklift license
• Safety training
• HAZMAT
• Understanding of battery styles, sizes and quality requirements.
• Basic Computer Skills

• Must be able to work independently with little guidance.

Responsibilities

• Receives orders from Sales Department; recognizes the need for special labeling, packing and top priority. Coordinate labeling and packing with Label Department.
• Determines if inventory is sufficient to ship order; advises Supervisor if stock is not fresh, if stock is short, or if the order will be overweight.
• Labels all skids according to the quantity and type of battery; weighs all skids; stretch wraps all skids to complete order.
• Responsible for final quality check before shipping to customer (dirty batteries, leaking batteries and/or old stock must not be shipped).
• Receives individual shipping instructions from the shipping department; places order in rack or directly load commercial or company carrier as necessary.
• Assists SLI Repairman with general repair duties.
• Is responsible for: Understanding and following policies, procedures and instructions Identifying and reporting product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel Controlling nonconforming products Supporting implementation of corrective/preventive and improvement actions
• Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.
• Perform weekly and monthly inventories.
