Job Description The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is part of U.S. Bank’s Enterprise Financial Crimes Compliance (EFCC) organization, a second line of defense responsible for identifying and preventing individuals and businesses from using U.S. Bank products and services for illegal purposes and reporting suspicious activity to FinCEN and law enforcement. The Special Investigations (SI) Team is responsible for investigating high-risk and/or sensitive financial crime activity (AML and Fraud) as well as broker-dealer and Wealth, Corporate, Commercial and Institution (WCIB) investigations. As a WCIB Investigator you will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations which may include analyzing transactional information, claims of fraud, customer data, and open-source research for the purpose of recommending whether not a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) should be filed with FinCEN. This is an AML focused role, and the ideal candidate will have an understanding of broker-dealer and WCIB operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls. This role will require FINRA association as a non-registered associated person of a registered broker-dealer firm, which will be completed after hire.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically more than three years of applicable experience

  • Intermediate knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business
  • Intermediate understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
  • Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies

  • Effective presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations
