We are seeking a Special Inspector to support high-profile construction projects across the region, including state-of-the-art data centers , large-scale commercial buildings ranging from 10 to 27 stories , and critical infrastructure projects such as airports . In this role, youll be hands-on in the field, performing inspection and testing of a wide variety of construction materials and systems, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance on complex, fast-paced projects. Requirements

  • This is an entry-level, CS Technician Trainee position for new employees with little or no training or experience.
  • Atlas trains these employees in the basics with the expectation that they will successfully complete the ACI Field Testing Technician Grade 1,and Radiation Safety Training certifications within the first six (6) months of employment.
  • Possess physical dexterity to perform field tests, including lifting up to 100 pounds, repeated bending, twisting and turning, climbing (ladders, scaffolds and stairs), walking distances on irregular surfaces, and standing for considerable periods.
  • Ability to maintain safety consciousness at all times while working, driving, and on moving through construction sites and around heavy construction equipment and vehicles.
  • Ability to tolerate and work outdoors in extreme climatic conditions.
  • Ability to drive safely and main alertness in varying driving conditions, including poor road conditions, long distances, in heavy traffic, and among heavy construction equipment and vehicles.
  • Ability to work safely with hazardous materials including radioactive sources, dust, chemicals, concrete, and other industrial and construction pollution.
  • Read and follow procedures.
  • A valid driving license, with a clean driving record, proof of insurance
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, and random tests after hire.
  • High School diploma/GED
  • General computer skills such as: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Basic mathematic and writing skills.
  • Communication through phone calls and email.

  • Advanced understanding of construction materials testing.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain representative samples of construction materials.
  • Review plans and specifications for project requirements.
  • Perform inspection and testing for: rebar, epoxy, concrete, masonry, asphalt, and other items.
  • Assist in the lab with materials testing.
  • Provide accurate test reports and daily diary to be submitted prior to leaving the jobsite.
  • Track time and supplies for the projects worked.
  • Track training hours on provided documentation.
  • Return calls or email within a reasonable time period.
  • Maintain a professional image.
  • Maintain assigned gear in clean and operable condition.
  • Complete timecards and expense reports at the end of each shift.
  • Assist with the Boise, Pocatello and Idaho Falls workload and surrounding areas.
  • Complete all required safety reporting.
  • Must have a professional work ethic, willingness to learn, and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Work in a cooperative and courteous manner with the public, contractors, supervisors, and other department staff.
  • Able to work weekends, early morning, or late evening hours
