The Special Events Emergency Medical Technician Driver provides direct patient care at the EMT Defibrillation level, adhering to special events protocols and state OEMS guidelines. This role supports paramedics or nurses during patient transport from various venue sites, assisting with patient packaging, loading, and care at the EMT-D level. Key responsibilities include safely driving vehicles in accordance with special events policy and legal requirements, ensuring the safety of all passengers, and maintaining the cleanliness and restocking of the vehicle after each event or transport. The EMT Driver is also responsible for reporting any safety hazards to the lead paramedic, Assistant Director, or MCA charge person if using an MCA ambulance. Accurate documentation of patient condition and treatment, while maintaining confidentiality, is crucial. The position requires maintaining all necessary certifications, skills, continuing education, and mandatory in-services.
