About The Position

We are seeking South Florida candidates for the Statewide Special Event Manager to develop and implement effective event planning processes and execution of events. The Statewide Special Event Manager establishes and maintains vendor relationships, oversees contract negotiations, manages meeting and event budgets and service delivery of event vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, event management, communications, public relations, or equivalent of five years’ experience in planning and implementing special events preferably for a nonprofit, event planning, PR, advertising or like fields.
  • Proficiency in event management software

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day event planning, preparation, and project management for multiple events that may be happening simultaneously throughout the year across the state
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of online components, as well as external sources when appropriate, to include registration forms, event web pages, database, etc.
  • Create, manage and report on event budgets; collect registrations, sponsorships, and invoices; manage logistical elements including all necessary event permits
  • Produce error-free written content quickly, accurately and on tight deadlines
  • Work closely with Development team to ensure all event messages are executed in accordance with the event promotional calendar
  • Accountability to ensure profitable and well attended events
  • Actively seek opportunities to take a leadership role in the execution of improving the event planning process and attendee experience
  • Coordinate and collaborate with vendors or volunteers to execute logistics for all fundraising events
  • Prepare and maintain fundraising materials and presentations as well as event collateral and marketing material
  • Train volunteers and manage assignments on-site during event.

  • Assists in the development of an annual organizational budget

  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Maintains a working knowledge of Epilepsy Alliance Florida`s mission and programs
  • Participate in fundraising activities, staff, and department meetings
  • Abide by all agency and state policies, procedures, and mandates
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned
  • Always represent the agency in a positive manner
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor
