About The Position

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Redwood City, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Redwood City, CA Schedule: 20 hours, 1.25 hour per session, 4 days a week Pay range is between $25 and $35 Ideal Candidate: Experience working with students on the autism spectrum and/or other learning differences. Skilled in foundational literacy and math instruction at early elementary levels. Strong behavior management skills and ability to provide structured, patient, and positive instruction. Creative and engaging, able to incorporate arts, music, and hands-on activities into lessons. Excellent communication, organization, and motivational skills. Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Background in Special Education strongly preferred (SPED credential, RBT, ABA experience, or related field).

Responsibilities

  • Provide structured instruction in foundational reading and writing skills, including handwriting, fluency, comprehension, and writing conventions.
  • Support foundational math skills, including number sense, operations, and math word problems.
  • Integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies to support engagement, regulation, and confidence.
  • Use multi-sensory approaches, including music and arts-based activities, to enhance learning and retention.
  • Provide gentle redirection, verbal prompts, and hand-over-hand guidance as needed to maintain focus and engagement.
  • Collaborate with caregivers and therapists to ensure consistency across learning environments.
  • Conduct an initial assessment to determine current skill levels and guide instructional planning.
