Requirements

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement.

Experience with differentiated instruction and behavior management strategies.
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Competence using instructional technology, diagnostic tools, and data-driven practices.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold high ethical standards.
CPI certification or ability to maintain certification as required.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with English Language Learners.
Background in inclusive and least restrictive environment (LRE) programming.
Experience supervising paraprofessionals or support staff.
Strong family engagement and home–school communication skills.

Responsibilities

Identify student needs and develop, implement, and manage IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Deliver individualized, small-group, and whole-group instruction using research-based practices.
Provide students access to the general education curriculum through appropriate accommodations and modifications.
Create and maintain a structured, positive classroom environment that supports learning and well-being.
Conduct ongoing assessments of academic, behavioral, and social-emotional progress.
Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and instruction.
Coordinate and lead IEP meetings, including preparation and documentation.
Communicate regularly and effectively with families, staff, and administrators.
Supervise and support paraprofessionals and support staff as assigned.
Implement and maintain behavior intervention plans and classroom procedures.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with special education documentation requirements.
Participate in meetings, professional development, and school initiatives.
