About The Position
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs. This role involves collaborating with other educators and specialists to ensure each student's educational success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid South Carolina teaching certification in Special Education.
- Knowledge of special education laws and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse learners.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs.
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction to students with disabilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curricula and assessments for students with special needs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including IEP documentation.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss student needs and progress
- Any other duties as assigned.
