About The Position

Lionsgate Academy is a Public Charter School that specializes in educating students with living with Autism or other learning differences. SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER-TRANSITIONS PROGRAM: Teaches small group classes on functional skills topics (functional academics, functional home living skills, etc.) to support students in achieving their IEP goals. Requirements

  • Possession of a valid Minnesota Teaching License in Special Education
  • Valid driver’s license/ability to transport students via school vehicle (must have 3 or less moving violations in the last three years and no DWI/DUI convictions within the past 5 years).
  • Ability to operate a computer and the software necessary to complete the required job tasks

Nice To Haves

  • If not currently or appropriately licensed, must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive an Out of Field Permission or Tier 1 or Tier 2 Teaching License
  • Previous vocational work with individuals with disabilities
  • Experience, interest and/or expertise working with students on the autism spectrum, varied learning styles and levels of mastery
  • Experience in differentiation, using creative teaching techniques from project-based to direct-instruction in developing personalized learning plans for each student.
