About The Position

Leominster High School is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher. The position involves co-teaching in inclusion settings and teaching executive functioning skills in an academic support class.

Requirements

• BA/BS
• MA Special Education certification
• Demonstrated ability to engage, direct, and teach high school-age students
• Skilled at setting limits, processing events, and guiding students to take responsibility for their actions.
• Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations, including mandated reporting.
• Experience with IEP-focused service delivery or solution-focused counseling
• Ability to establish strong relationships with students, faculty, and parents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Reading Instruction not required but is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Co-Teach inclusion classes.
• Teach executive functioning skills in an academic support setting
• Works in conjunction with other staff to create IEPs; provides input for student reevaluation.
• Communicate regularly with families of students receiving services.
• Maintain service delivery log and progress notes; uses ongoing assessments to evaluate and report on student progress.
• Provide consultation to general education staff pertaining to student progress.
