Position Overview: Deliver specialized academic instruction and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to a diverse caseload of adjudicated youth within the secure environment of a juvenile detention center. Integrate strong, trauma-informed behavioral management strategies and restorative practices to maintain a safe, structured, and conducive learning environment for students with significant emotional and social needs. Lead student planning and coordination by effectively collaborating with facility staff, probation officers, counselors, and case managers to integrate educational, behavioral, and transitional goals into each student's IEP.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Education Endorsement (Required)
• Experience working with adjudicated youth or students in alternative education, correctional, or high-risk therapeutic settings
