Special Education - Non-Tenure Track Faculty Vacancy Pool
About The Position
The Education Leadership & Inclusive Teaching Department maintains a vacancy pool of qualified persons interested in temporary, full and part-time teaching positions. In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year and summer sessions, applications are accepted continuously for temporary non-tenure track teaching positions on a part-time basis with occasional opportunities for temporary, full-time appointments. Positions may become available at any time and are typically filled on a quarterly basis. Teach courses and/or supervise practicum placements for pre-service teachers training to become special education teachers and/or early interventionists in the content areas listed below. Instructors follow the course syllabus and department policies. Student course evaluations must be completed for every course taught and submitted to the Department Chair. Specialization in any of the content areas listed below is helpful. Introduction to Special Education Educational Psychology Culture and Equity in Education Collaborations with Family, Professionals, and Communities Direct Instruction Reading and/or Practicum School Practicum Supervision Behavior Management Direct Instruction Math Written Expression Learning Problems Complex Needs Curriculum Based Assessment Special Education Law and Standardized Assessments
Requirements
- MA or MEd in special education or related field
- Teaching experience
- Commitment to working with diverse students, faculty and staff, including cultivating learning environments that are equitable and inclusive of students with diverse social identities and backgrounds
Nice To Haves
- PhD or EdD in special education or related field
Responsibilities
