Special Education Instructional Classroom Assistant
About The Position
The position of a Special Education Instructional Classroom Assistant is available immediately at East Central ISD. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. The deadline for submitting an application is until the position is filled. PRIMARY PURPOSE: Help meet the physical and instructional needs of individual students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom. Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP), including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs. Work under the general supervision of the principal and immediate direction of a certified teacher.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have one of the following: 48 college hours with some emphasis on child growth or development or related area Treasuring our Paraprofessionals certificate
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, collaborative, and interpersonal skills
- Must perform duties with a minimum supervision
- Ability to communicate
Responsibilities
- Assist the assigned teacher in general, supportive, and specialized instructional classroom services in designated settings.
- Assist teacher in instructional media preparation and usage.
- Duplicate instructional materials for teachers.
- Be willing to attend training as needed.
- Have regular attendance.
- Assist students, when necessary, in classroom settings outside the classroom.
- Assist with the physical needs of individual students and/or implement behavior plans.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
