Requirements

• Valid New Jersey K-6 Elementary Certificate and Teacher of Students with Disabilities
• OR
• Teacher of the Handicapped
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing assessments to identify students' strengths, challenges, and individual learning preferences.
• Design and deliver instructional interventions using evidence-based practices and principles of Universal Design for Learning.
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed to ensure continuous growth and improvement.
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure open communication and partnership in supporting students' academic and social-emotional development.
• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to the unique needs of each student.
• Provide direct instruction and support in a variety of subjects to students with mild/moderate disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other support staff to create an inclusive classroom environment.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
• Proficiency with instructional technology.
