About The Position

As a Special School District (SSD) partner district director, you provide the guidance and supervision that binds special education services throughout St. Louis County together. You will ensure that every student, family, and staff member in your district gets what they need to be successful. Through compassion, drive, high expectations, and appreciation, you will champion the work of SSD and partner district staff. You will be relied upon as an excellent communicator, ensuring that stakeholders in your district are well-informed and engaged. You will foster connection and cooperation, building teams of confident, effective, high-quality educators, support staff, and paraeducators who work together to fulfill our mission of empowering students to excel to their greatest potential. Partner district directors work primarily in the buildings within the district they serve and occasionally travel to SSD’s Central Office and SSD’s Learning Center. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, typically 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Some evening and weekend hours will be required. The primary office for this position is Ritenour School District Special School District serves nearly 25,000 students and employs over 5,700 staff in St. Louis County. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in special education or administration required
  • Minimum of three years special education teaching experience or related services experience preferred
  • Minimum of two years special education administration experience require
  • Missouri DESE Special Education Administrator Certification required
  • Missouri DESE Special Education Teacher Certification or related services required
