About The Position

Purpose and Scope: Overseeing the movement of Classified, Pilferable, Hazardous, and Air Force owned material. This includes the offloading, induction, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of material coming from the Special Commodities areas. Other responsibilities include ensuring the safety of all employees and ensuring that safety standards are met. Keep location inventory accurate to prevent adjustments; maintain strong communication with other sections to ensure proper flow of material. Communicate with and work along base entities to ensure compliance is met in all areas. Directly supervise the three sections of Special Commodities and help guide employees through various processes and challenges. Essential Responsibilities: Perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Ensure all SOPs are followed regarding all processes (Offloading, Induction, Storage, Picking, Packing, And Shipping) Ensure all dual verifications and Quality Control checks of material are being conducted. Maintaining 100% accuracy in appropriate “zero-fail” missions. Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials, examine stored materials and reports deterioration and damage. Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment. May operate hand or power trucks, or material handling equipment, including forklifts, in performing warehousing duties. Verify materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents. Note and report discrepancies and obvious damages to material; route materials to prescribed storage locations; store, stack or palletize material in accordance with prescribed storage methods. Ensure Hazardous Section complies with all SOP’s and base environmental regulations. Regulate and maintain a shelf-life program to ensure expired material is removed from warehouse supply and disposed of in accordance with base regulations. Ensure employees have required hazardous training per DLA and Hill AFB regulations. Work closely with the U.S. Air Force Customer and adhere to their procedures regarding the management of all ILS-S Air Force owned material at DDHU. Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain Clearance.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Six to twelve months’ job-related experience and/or training is required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a general-purpose government vehicle.
  • Ability to perform work in a safe manner to prevent loss or damage of equipment.
  • Customer-oriented with ability to courteously and effectively work through difficult situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience building and leading teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with hazardous materials; hazardous material certificate is a plus.
  • Experience working in a classified storage area with classified material.
  • Experience working with U.S. Air Force Material under the guidance of U. S. Airforce Guidelines.
  • Experience with Inventory Control
  • Warehouse & supply chain management experience
  • MS Office skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Access
