About The Position

At PNC, the Special Assets Consultant role within the Midland organization is an in-office position focused on managing special serviced loans and/or portfolios of customers with mid to high complexity. The primary objective is to minimize losses and optimize resolutions through transaction analysis. This involves gathering financial data, preparing analyses, and developing workout strategies. The consultant reviews relevant documents, negotiates workout options with customers to mitigate risks, and collaborates with internal and external partners, including borrowers and outside counsel, to secure collateral coverage and document agreements. Adherence to established policies and regulations is crucial. The role also requires evaluating asset or customer's financial health, including cash flow, balance sheets, and long-term business plans, and conducting site inspections for properties under special assets management. Consultants are expected to be customer-focused, prioritizing customer needs and satisfaction, and skilled in managing risks in line with PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework. This position may also involve mentoring peers and conducting team training. Requirements

  • Appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
  • University / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience.
  • Specific certifications are often required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Manages special serviced loans and/or portfolios of customers of mid to high complexity.
  • Performs transaction analysis with the goal of minimizing losses and optimizing resolutions.
  • Gathers financial data, prepares analysis and develops workout strategy and alternatives for a portfolio.
  • Reviews relevant documents and transaction deal structure.
  • Negotiates workout options with customers to reduce risks and losses.
  • Works with internal and external business partners and borrowers to better secure collateral coverage.
  • Adheres to established policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Evaluates asset or customer's cash flow, balance sheet, long-term business plans, and other relevant financial information.
  • Performs site inspections for properties managed by special assets.
  • Works with internal and external business partners, which may include outside counsel, on negotiations and documentation to mitigate risk.
  • May serve as a mentor to peers and conduct team training.
