About The Position

Under the direction of the Assistant Director, the Special Agent-in-Charge (SAC) is responsible for the overall operation of the Compliance and Enforcement Section - Los Angeles, Riverside and San Diego Regional Offices of the Bureau of Gambling Control. The SAC designs, plans, assigns, directs and evaluates the Bureau's Compliance and Enforcement program and makes recommendations regarding personnel resources, equipment and the budget. Reviews all requests for investigative services received from Bureau staff and either accepts or rejects the requests and evaluates and acts on requests for assistance from federal, state and local agencies. Directly supervises agent and clerical staff and evaluates employee performance on a regular basis and keeps the Director and Assistant Director updated on the status, progress, and problem areas of current investigations; represents the Bureau at meetings with other law enforcement agencies, the press, the Legislature, the Gambling Control Commission and the public relating to the Gambling Control Act.
