About The Position

The Spanish Speaking LIHTC Leasing Consultant role is crucial for creating a seamless and rewarding experience for residents and property owners. This position involves actively engaging with prospective residents through greetings and tours, and promoting available units and amenities across various platforms. The consultant will be responsible for clearly explaining lease terms, application requirements, and pricing, while also meticulously processing and maintaining accurate resident files. A key aspect of the role is working collaboratively with the Property Manager and maintenance team to ensure high-quality work and resident satisfaction. The consultant will manage re-certifications and renewals, support resident retention efforts, and communicate lease provisions and community policies effectively. Furthermore, the role includes assisting applicants with the entire application process, specifically handling all LIHTC paperwork, and supporting the Property Manager with annual recertifications. The consultant will also be tasked with creating and updating waitlists and completing various daily, weekly, or monthly reports as assigned. Ensuring resident satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution, and conducting move-in/move-out inspections are also core duties.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of LIHTC regulations, income limits, and compliance rules.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).
  • Knowledge of affordable housing/government programs.
  • Excellent customer service: someone who can navigate all types of situations.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Understands and complies with state landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing laws and OSHA.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word Document, and Outlook.
  • Works well under pressure and maintains a positive friendly attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Property Management software: Yardi.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and tour prospective residents.
  • Promote available units and amenities via online platforms, signage, and outreach.
  • Explain lease terms, application requirements, and pricing.

  • Works closely with the Property Manager and maintenance team to ensure quality work is completed.
