About The Position

The role of a Bilingual Education Champion involves providing bilingual Spanish support in biology to urban students. This mission-driven position aims to empower young minds and close the opportunity gap by offering academic assistance in both English and a second language. Tutors will work one-on-one and in small groups, covering core subjects such as Math, Reading, Writing, Science, Social Studies, and Regents exam preparation. A key aspect of the role is collaborating with teachers and school leaders to develop engaging, personalized learning strategies that help students thrive, while also bridging language gaps to ensure comprehensive support for every student. Requirements

  • Committed to supporting academic and personal success, especially for underserved and bilingual students
  • Fluent in both English and a second language, with the ability to provide academic support in both languages
  • Degree-seeking student or graduate with a minimum 3.0 GPA in Education or a relevant field
  • Available to work 10-35 hours per week at an assigned school (or virtual program)
  • Ready to work closely with teachers, school leaders, and fellow tutors to maximize student success

Responsibilities

  • Provide Bilingual Spanish support in biology

  • Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to develop engaging, personalized learning strategies
