Catholic Charities of Central Colorado is seeking a fully bilingual Spanish-English Interpreter and Translator to provide professional legal and immigration interpretation and translation services for its Family Immigration Services (FIS) program. This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity for an experienced freelance Spanish interpreter/translator located in Colorado. Work is project-based and scheduled upon request, typically 2–6 hours per week, with fluctuations between 0–20 hours depending on case needs and contractor availability. Key Responsibilities: Provide accurate, complete Spanish - English spoken interpretation (immigration/legal settings) Deliver high-quality written translations preserving meaning, tone, and intent Sign certification of translation accuracy Maintain strict confidentiality and attorney-client privilege Request clarification when necessary to ensure precision Qualifications: Full professional fluency in Spanish and English (oral and written) Experience in legal, immigration, or court interpretation/translation Knowledge of immigration and legal terminology preferred Professional interpreter/translator certification a plus Must reside in Colorado Secure home office setup for remote assignments (print/scan/mail capability) Compensation: $41 per hour Work Type: Contract / 1099 Location: Colorado (on-site preferred; remote considered) This role is ideal for experienced freelance Spanish interpreters, legal translators, court interpreters, or immigration language specialists seeking flexible contract work with a mission-driven nonprofit organization.
