About The Position

The Spanish Interpreter/Translator will provide translation and interpretation work with clients and potential clients at the Law Clinic office as needed. Requirements

• Fluency in Spanish (both written and oral).
• Professionalism.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent grammar, written and verbal communication, and a willingness to learn legal terminology.
• Must be a Washburn student and currently enrolled.
• If a student at Washburn University Law School, must be enrolled as a 2L, 3L, or LLM.

Nice To Haves

• Experience and coursework on Spanish interpretation and/or translation in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Primary translator of Spanish documents into English, including correspondence, forms, and personal statements.
• Interpret between Law Clinic staff/students and clients.
• Translating English documents into Spanish.
• Filing.
• Typing.
• Answering the phone.
