The Sous Chef serves as the second-in-command in the kitchen, supporting the Chef de Cuisine in leading daily operations while ensuring every dish reflects quality, consistency, and care. This role blends culinary talent with operational leadership — assisting in menu execution, mentoring the team, and maintaining a kitchen culture rooted in professionalism and pride.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Sous Chef in an upscale dining or hotel environment highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
  • Proven leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Detail-oriented with a patient, steady leadership style
  • Keen eye for cleanliness, efficiency, and presentation
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work with kitchen tools and equipment for extended periods

Responsibilities

  • Assist in menu planning, execution, and daily management of kitchen staf
  • Collaborate on the development and testing of new recipes to ensure creativity and consistenc
  • Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and food is delivered on time and to standar
  • Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Chef de Cuisin
  • Monitor food preparation and presentation to maintain quality and brand standar
  • Address and resolve operational challenges quickly and effectively
  • Train and mentor kitchen team members on culinary techniques, food safety, and presentatio
  • Support inventory management and ordering to maintain appropriate stock level
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the kitchen
