About The Position

Position Title : Sous Chef Location: Trump Winery in Charlottesville, VA - 15 minutes south of Charlottesville city limits Hours: Full-Time onsite Wage: $23-28 per hour based on experience See why we’ve been named “one of the best places to work in Charlottesville”. Requirements

  • High School Graduate or G.E.D; Culinary Arts certificate preferred
  • 5+ years of professional culinary experience
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience
  • Frequently stands and walks for extended periods of time.
  • Ability needed to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Certification Serve Safe Manager certificate
  • Knowledge of computing skills (Word, Excel, Gmail)
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary Arts certificate preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with menu development and ingredient usage to maintain food costs within acceptable margin
  • Responsible for prepping ingredients for services and assembling dishes according to recipes and specifications
  • Ensure food is prepared and served according to appropriate time levels; during busy moments, is utilizing tools and practices to ensure the wait is not excessive
  • Ensure high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety are maintained throughout all kitchen areas at all times
  • Receive and stock inventory appropriately; place orders on occasion when directed, follow FIFO and product rotation to minimize spoilage and waste.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Conduct daily inventory and place food orders as needed
  • Create and execute prep lists to maintain appropriate stock levels based on business demands
  • Work across three kitchen locations, maintaining full knowledge of all menus and recipes
