About The Position

Sous Chef Walters Wedding Estates The chief job of a Sous Chef at Walters is to support the Executive Chef and to act as the Executive Chef in their absence. We are actively seeking experienced candidates with a strong work ethic. This person can adapt and learn quickly. Sous Chefs should be a resident expert in kitchen operations. Sous Chefs communicate clearly and provide necessary direction to a team. Our chefs take pride in their work but can handle criticism. Do you love serving and interacting with people? If you have prior Banquet, Catering, or Event experience, you might be a great fit for a Banquet Captain at Walters Wedding Estates. This person acts with a sense of urgency when completing and delegating tasks. This leader should always have a smile on their face and look for ways to improve the client's experience. A Banquet Captain excels in communicating instructions and providing direction to a team. The Banquet Captain takes direction from the General Manager but can also problem-solve on their own when needed. Requirements

  • Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent, Culinary degree
  • Required Experience: 5 years of successful culinary experience
  • Certifications: Serve Safe Food Handlers
  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift 30 lbs frequently, stand/walk 8-12 hours
  • Location:Lago Vista, TX
  • Job Hours: Part-Time, Weekends, and Evenings
  • Pay: Hourly $20:00 - 25:00 depend on experience
  • Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required Experience: 5-year banquet or catering experience
  • Certifications: TABC, Serve Safe
  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift 50 lbs frequently, stand/walk 8-12 hours
  • Other: Must be eligible to work in the United States; Walters Hospitality participates in E-Verify.
  • Submit/complete background check; have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Gets the right food to the right place at the right time
  • Completes food preparation and cooks according to recipes
  • Plates and presents food to meet standards
  • Transports food and equipment to venues for events
  • Oversees the kitchen food service during events
  • Maintains proper sanitation and cleanliness at all times
  • Oversee the setup of breakdown of the event space
  • Maintain venue cleanliness at all times
  • Lead a banquet team to execute flawless events
  • Can execute against a BEO
