About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Sous Chef to support foodservice operations at Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento, California . This role is ideal for a hands-on culinary professional who enjoys leading food preparation at an assigned station while maintaining high standards in a healthcare environment. The Sous Chef plays an important role in daily kitchen execution, supporting food quality, consistency, and teamwork. SodexoMagic is the joint venture partnership between NBA Hall of Famer, Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Sodexo. This strategic alliance enables us to deliver creative solutions to our clients along with our local partners throughout the communities we serve. For almost 20 years, we have provided top-level food, facilities management and integrated services to corporations, healthcare facilities, K-12 schools, colleges, universities and aviation lounges.

Requirements

Culinary experience leading food preparation at a specific station (such as salads, soups, or other assigned areas)
Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen best practices
The ability to provide guidance and oversight to a small team, supervising fewer than two full-time employees
A commitment to quality food preparation and reliable service delivery
Minimum Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

Lead food preparation and production at an assigned station, ensuring quality, consistency, and presentation standards
Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety practices
Provide direction and support to team members assigned to the station
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements in alignment with Sodexo and Kaiser Permanente standards
