About The Position

Grand Oaks communities, owned and operated by the Visiting Nurse Association of Florida's home healthcare agency with over 40 years of experience, are dedicated to senior living excellence. They focus on providing high-quality care and a variety of engaging activities for residents. The staff is described as professional, caring, and passionate. This Sous Chef position involves assisting with the daily preparation of food items in various kitchen stations, including the pantry and fry stations. A key aspect of the role is ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchenware, equipment, and areas, as well as maintaining proper storage.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with community policies and procedures.
  • Assist in preparation of all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
  • Follows standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Chef.
  • Cleans and maintains station while practicing good safety, sanitation and organizational skills.
  • Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift.
  • Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station and uses equipment in safe manner.
  • Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage area.
  • Responsible for clean-up of soiled trays, pots, pans, cookware, dishes, glassware, and utensils, properly air dry to prevent "wet nesting" and restocking items to their specified locations.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub kitchen floors as well as walk-ins and other designated areas assigned.
  • Empties all trash/garbage receptacles frequently and cleans them when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
