About The Position

We are hiring a motivated Sous Chef to assist the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, maintaining quality standards, and leading culinary execution in a high-volume, polished casual restaurant. The ideal candidate is a natural leader who excels in high-performance kitchens, mentors team members effectively, and is passionate about delivering exceptional food and guest experiences.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant culinary experience with supervisory responsibilities
  • ServeSafe or Food Handler certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Advanced knowledge of food service regulations
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Experience in high-volume kitchen environments
  • Ability to stand for extended shifts and work in varying temperatures
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment and supplies
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily kitchen operations and service execution
  • Supervise food preparation and ensure quality control standards
  • Support staffing needs, scheduling, and team development
  • Train and mentor cooks in food safety, production techniques, and quality standards
  • Monitor inventory, food cost, and labor cost controls
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations
  • Maintain kitchen organization, cleanliness, and operational efficiency
  • Support menu execution for regular service and special events
