About our property: Located within the Orlando International Airport campus, the JetBlue Lodge is a 200-room full service lodging facility built to compliment its neighboring facility, the JetBlue Training Center. It will feature approximately 1,000 square feet of meeting space, high-end café style eatery, bar/lounge and grab & go option, as well as various outdoor recreational facilities to encourage interaction amongst its guests. The Lodge will play host JetBlue’s new-hire orientation and training; on-going pilot, crew and flight attendant training; traditional pilot and crew overnights; JetBlue vendors and partners; and JetBlue executives. Its facilities will serve two purposes • to provide four-star lodging and service to these various JetBlue constituents, and serve as an extension of the training and culture that JetBlue aims to deliver within its Training Center. Serving as the “Living Room” for what will become the broader JetBlue Training Campus, the lodge will be a place for its guests to congregate, communicate, expound upon the day’s training lessons and programs, and socialize. All the while, the structure, style, service and culture will be that of JetBlue – creating consistent style, culture and messaging for guests throughout the broader JetBlue campus. What you will have an opportunity to do:

Responsibilities

  • Be on the floor during peak service times to ensure the smooth running of the food production and service, including expediting and/ or helping the line cooks and wait staff
  • Ensuring a consistent product is being produced and served
  • Select, train, and supervise kitchen staff in the proper preparation of menu items
  • Ensure proper receiving, storage (including temperature-setting), and rotation of food products so as to comply with Health Department regulations and JetBlue food safety requirements
  • Attempts to strengthen knowledge of operation at all times, not only pertaining to production but also management; 0bserve and enforce objective policies, standards and procedures as set forth by the Executive Chef
  • Adhere to control procedures for cost and quality
  • Schedule culinary staff so that proper coverage is maintained while keeping payroll costs in line
  • Supervises daily cleaning of walk-in and reach-in boxes for sanitation purposes.
  • Performs other duties as requested, such as VIP parties, staff meetings, and special events in house.
  • Utilizes leadership skills and motivation techniques in order to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction.
  • Selects qualified employees and provides orientation and training.
  • Conducts employee meetings and counseling sessions in order to maximize employee morale and productivity and foster a sense of community.
  • Determines and communicates standards of performance to employees.
  • Evaluates employee performance on a regular basis and recommends salary increases as appropriate.
  • Develops employees to maximize potential and prepare for future promotional opportunities and counsel employees on career development.
  • Insures that disciplinary action is taken as required ensuring consistency, fairness and respect within framework of established guidelines.
  • This position requires a significant contribution to the hiring and firing decisions for their employees.
