Position Overview: As a Sourcing Specialist I, you will support sourcing execution across Polaris’s Driveline and Cast & Machined component categories, helping ensure supplier performance, cost competitiveness, and supply continuity. In this role, you will coordinate day-to-day sourcing activities while building the foundational skills needed to advance into broader strategic responsibilities. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Product, and other teams to translate technical requirements into effective supplier actions. You will also use data to help identify cost trends, risks, and opportunities that influence sourcing decisions. This role offers the opportunity to develop sourcing expertise while contributing to key initiatives that impact product quality, cost, and delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 months of applicable experience, including internships or project work in supply chain, operations, or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic project management methodologies and tools, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office with intermediate or stronger Excel skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
  • Skilled at building productive relationships with internal and external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS CPIM or ISM certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily sourcing activities for Driveline and Cast/Machined components, including preparing RFQs, analyzing supplier quotations, and supporting sourcing decisions aligned to category strategy.
  • Partner with suppliers to address pricing, invoice discrepancies, and other commercial issues.
  • Support supplier performance management by gathering data, monitoring cost, delivery, and quality metrics, and tracking corrective actions.
  • Assist cross‑functional teams by documenting root causes and supporting the resolution of supply chain issues.
  • Monitor lead times, capacity constraints, and potential part shortages to help mitigate supply risks.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on new releases, design updates, and drawing changes to ensure supplier understanding and alignment.
  • Review engineering drawings to support RFQs and supplier communication.
  • Support tooling reviews to confirm supplier proposals meet cost and quality expectations.
  • Build and maintain cost models and analytical tools to support category strategy development.
  • Use Excel and other data tools to identify cost trends, risks, and improvement opportunities and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Conduct supplier research and prepare data summaries for capability assessments and sourcing strategy work.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and contribute to value‑creation initiatives.
