We have a passion for excellence and genuine care for the people making it possible. This Sourcing Manager will act as a client liaison and lead for assigned programs and events. You'll negotiate critical program components based on knowledge of client requirements from initial request through contract completion and turnover; this includes recommending supplier and destinations options and solutions. This role proactively negotiates prices and contracts and creates reasonable preliminary budgets, while following standard operating procedures for all sourcing activity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in project, event or meeting management, at least 2 of which are in procurement.
  • Experiences in hotel buying as well as strong knowledge of program/event budget maintenance.
  • Knowledge of travel supplier operations, overall capabilities/range of services.
  • Proven negotiation skills and prior successful experience in developing and maintaining key client and supplier relationships.
  • Knowledge of domestic hotels and destinations.
  • Program management system experience with Cvent.
  • Understanding of and ability to effect win/win solutions and prior experience in effectively handle multiple projects/demands.

Nice To Haves

  • CMP certification.
  • Background in hotel sales or operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic event sourcing and negotiations with hotels and suppliers to secure optimal pricing, contract terms, and value-added opportunities that align with client goals and program success.
  • Own the end-to-end sourcing process, including gathering program requirements, developing and issuing RFPs, evaluating proposals, and securing room blocks, logistics, and key services.
  • Negotiate, review, and finalize supplier contracts, ensuring all terms—including attrition, cancellation, and program-specific provisions—are accurate, compliant, and protective of client interests.
  • Manage program timelines and supplier milestones, tracking option dates, coordinating with internal teams and suppliers, and ensuring all contracts and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Provide financial oversight and forecasting, including advising on deposit requirements, maintaining accurate budgets and cost savings projections, and ensuring systems reflect current program data.
  • Maintain accurate program records and documentation, ensuring all tentative, confirmed, and canceled programs are tracked in alignment with Maritz and client standards.
  • Build strong partnerships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams, maintaining proactive communication to ensure alignment, manage expectations, and deliver exceptional client experiences.
  • Support complex and high-priority program needs, including VIP requests and unique client requirements, while ensuring smooth transition and handoff to execution teams.
  • Contribute to a high-performing team culture, sharing insights, supporting peers, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen supplier partnerships, and drive program value.
