About The Position

As the Manager of Sourcing, you will lead a small team of Category Managers and a Sourcing Analyst responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies across Marketing, Finance, People & Culture, and Legal categories. You will provide strategic direction, coaching, and operational leadership to ensure your team delivers measurable value, strong supplier performance, and risk mitigation for the enterprise. In this influential role, you will partner with senior stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business priorities while championing process excellence, data‑driven decision‑making, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management, with at least 2+ years in a Sourcing specific leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success leading sourcing activities across multiple indirect spend categories (Marketing, Finance, HR, Legal, or similar services).
  • Strong leadership skills with experience coaching and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, build trusted relationships, and drive alignment across functions.
  • Expertise in leading complex negotiations, RFx processes, and supplier management activities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, evaluate options, and make strategic recommendations.
  • Solid understanding of contract structures, SOW development, KPIs, pricing models, and supplier performance management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to deliver insights to executive audiences.
  • Experience with procurement systems, contracting tools, and analytics platforms.
  • High level of organization and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience overseeing Marketing, HR, Legal, and/or Finance categories at scale or in a matrixed environment.
  • Knowledge of agency models, creative fee structures, HR or legal staffing models, or financial services procurement.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, CMKG, PMP, Lean Six Sigma).
  • Experience leading change management initiatives, process improvements, or system implementations.
  • Familiarity with supplier risk assessments, governance frameworks, or compliance programs.
  • Background working in organizations undergoing digital transformation, growth, or restructuring.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Category Managers and a Sourcing Analyst, providing guidance on strategy, execution, and professional growth.
  • Oversee the development and execution of sourcing strategies across Marketing, Finance, P&C (HR), and Legal categories.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into sourcing priorities, long‑range category plans, and project roadmaps.
  • Review and guide team execution of RFx events, negotiation strategies, business cases, supplier evaluations, and award recommendations.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional alignment on scopes of work, project requirements, performance metrics, and supplier selection decisions.
  • Ensure consistent application of strategic sourcing processes, best practices, and compliance standards across all categories.
  • Monitor supplier performance, oversee key supplier business reviews, and escalate issues or improvement opportunities as needed.
  • Drive value realization tracking, ensuring negotiated savings, operational efficiencies, and performance improvements are captured and reported.
  • Champion process improvements in sourcing workflows, contract development, intake management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with Legal, Finance, Risk, IT and People & Culture to strengthen contract quality, optimize commercial terms, and support risk mitigation efforts.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and insights that highlight team performance, category strategies, and sourcing outcomes.
  • Manage workload allocation, prioritization, and resource planning across the sourcing team.
