The Soil Sort Worker is responsible for sorting incoming soiled laundry in preparation for the laundry process. This position involves working within a team and may include duties such as manually opening bags of soiled linen, pushing or pulling heavy carts (up to 800 pounds), positioning carts on scales, moving carts to hoist loading areas, attaching bag straps to overhead hoists, and activating hoist controls. The worker will sort linen by hand, separating it by type and placing it into appropriate bins. Other tasks include checking machinery for jams, demonstrating friendly and respectful behavior, performing job rotation, and assisting with other duties as instructed by management.
