The Sonography Technologist performs high-quality ultrasound exams using proper techniques and equipment, ensuring accurate diagnostic images. This role involves patient care and safety, including preparation, positioning, communication, and adherence to universal precautions. The technologist supports radiologists with image-guided procedures and manages workflow and documentation, including RIS/PACS, scheduling, patient communication, and accurate recordkeeping. Maintaining quality control and compliance, such as equipment QA, ACR standards, and ongoing professional development, is also a key aspect. Requirements

  • Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) recognized by the American Heart Association
  • Current registry by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) (or must be registry-eligible and obtain registry within one year of employment in technologist position)
  • Must be registered through ARDMS with AB, OB/GYN and RVT (Practice and State Specific)

Responsibilities

  • Performs high-quality ultrasound exams using proper techniques, equipment settings, and independent judgment to capture accurate diagnostic images
  • Ensures patient care and safety, including preparation, positioning, communication, and adherence to universal precautions
  • Supports radiologists with image-guided procedures (e.g., paracentesis, thoracentesis, hysterosonograms)
  • Manages workflow and documentation, including RIS/PACS, scheduling coordination, patient communication, and accurate recordkeeping
  • Maintains quality control and compliance, including equipment QA, ACR standards, and ongoing professional development
