About The Position

The Supervisor, Heart Services will oversee the clinical operations and staff of the pediatric cardiac sonography department and includes coordinating daily workflow for inpatient and outpatient areas at the following clinical locations: Heart Center (Commerce Tower – 8 rooms); Heart Services (BHT 2 rooms) Inpatient Units (CVICU/PICU); Procedure Center, Cath Lab, CVOR (transesophageal echo and intra-op echo); Outreach Clinics (Mission, Corona, Newport, etc.); and Fetal Cardiology (Fetal Center Echo Lab – 2 rooms). Manages the team of pediatric cardiac sonographers, ensuring high-quality imaging procedures, maintaining departmental protocols, and fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Working closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and optimal patient care. Responsible for staying updated on technological advancements and industry best practices in pediatric cardiac sonography.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of cardiology experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of lead experience in a clinical setting.
  • Successful completion of an Echocardiography program.
  • Highly skilled and competent individual who functions as an integral member of the health care team.
  • Ability to produce and evaluate ultrasound images and related data that are used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to render quality patient care.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography (RDCS-PE) credentialing in pediatric echocardiography by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonography (RCCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Medium - High energy level
  • Lift and carry 40-50 lbs.
  • Push/pull +/- 150-200 lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher)
  • Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs. (ie. Patient)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in pediatric cardiology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Echocardiography or Health Science related field.
  • Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
