Position Summary ORLANDO HEALTH – HEALTH CENTRAL HOSPITAL Located in Ocoee, Florida, Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital is a 252-bed comprehensive medical and surgical acute-care facility that has been serving the residents of west Orange County for more than 70 years. Services range from 24/7 emergency care to cardiovascular and stroke care, neurosciences, oncology, orthopedics, minimally invasive robotic surgery and more. Our hospital has accreditations and designations in many specialty services, including bariatric surgery, spine surgery, stroke, and hip and knee joint replacement. Position Summary Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic sonographic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of sonography and meets American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) eligibility guidelines.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer(RDMS)registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate.
  • Knowledge of routine ultrasound procedures which may include invasive procedures such as biopsies, amniocentesis, thoracentesis, breast cyst aspiration, and breast localization, and knowledge of Doppler, 3D/4D, and pediatric sonography

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Radiologist to perform diagnostic sonographic exams.
  • Demonstrates professional judgment in service delivery and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
  • Delivers appropriate care, recognizes patient conditions, and ensures successful completion of procedures.
  • Complies with allstate and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Adheresto Orlando Health mission statement and commitment to excellence standards.
  • Assessesthe patient’s physical condition and age specific needs.
  • Provides instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history and ensures accurate documentation.
  • Positions patient, equipment, and associated devices. Manipulates technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Assesses diagnostic imagesfor technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that allrelative anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Comprehends and complies with Quality Controlstandards and participatesin all Quality Control tasks.
  • Administers medical aid asrequired for any emergency situation.
  • Applies appropriate standard precautions and use of personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
  • Assists in supervising student sonographers.
  • Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensuresthe safety of all customers.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, procedures, department guidelines, and education requirements.
  • Follows established standards of practice for image processing and interpretation.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
  • Maintains well-stocked and organized work areas.
  • Works at any facility asrequired by operational needs or organizational demands.
  • Provides patient transport
