As a part of Uptown Community Health Center, Seton Women's Center sees patients of all backgrounds for Obstetrics and Gynecological care. As the main clinic for a Residency program we have over 25 different Providers who rotate through our clinic. Summary The Sonographer is responsible for performing ultrasound examinations at a technical level in accordance with department protocols and applicable regulatory requirements. Will assume responsibility for the safe, efficient and proper operation of the ultrasound equipment.

Requirements

  • Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Associate degree
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Two years experience in a healthcare organization, specifically OB/GYN or MFM
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
  • Experience with Epic application and health record
  • Experience working with and sensitivity toward special populations, including those with limited income, limited education, and non-English speaking individuals
  • Bilingual English / Spanish - complete comprehension, literacy, and fluency in both languages

Responsibilities

  • Be available to work in person as scheduled and report to work on time regularly and reliably.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to organization standards , policies, and procedures, and to legal regulations; alerting others with potential concerns.
  • Communicates in a professional, clear, effective, and compassionate way with patients, visitors, and coworkers . Both in person, on the telephone, and with written communication.
  • Oversees the scheduling and coordinating of tests.
  • Obtains and evaluates pertinent patient history and physical finding that may affect the sonographic examination.
  • Explains procedure adequately and compassionately to patients to maximize patient comfort and cooperation.
  • Produces high quality ultrasound images and obtains appropriate measurements for exam .
  • Recognizes the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue structures and provides the best image quality for documentation.
  • Communicates information in a professional and courteous manner to patients and to referring physician offices, as .
  • Maintains the ultrasound equipment - for cleanliness, ensures proper equipment maintenance and safety, c alibrates , and order s supplies when needed .
  • Prepares and maintain s operational logs.
  • Assists with quality assurance and improvements audits and activities , as .
  • Proper and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record : recording patient examination, treatment, and test results.
  • Maintains patient confi dentiality and protects medical office operations by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
  • Maintains a clean work area: c lean and stock the rooms in accordance with the Kanban system.
  • Participate s in huddles daily, per huddle procedure.
  • Attend s required staff meetings, standard work meetings , and training .
