Sonographer Full-time position- 30-40 hours a week, Monday through Friday Must be RDMS certified in abdomen/obstetrics/gynecology and venous exams. Job Summary: Perform general and vascular imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries Clinical: Prepare and position patient for imaging procedure Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation Monitor equipment operation and report malfunctioning equipment to manager Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body Move imaging equipment into specified position, determine exposure factors and adjust equipment controls to set proper exposure Process images and review for proper identification and quality control Prepare images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician Complete forms and maintain records, logs and reports of work performed Maintain the proper number of continuing education credits for licensing Perform the necessary computer/paper tasks related to patient care Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients Other duties as assigned Staff: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Have computer skills. Work well in a fast-paced setting. Be organized. Be detail oriented. Have communication skills. Have multi-tasking skills. Establish constructive working relationships with others at work and maintain them over time. Must demonstrate active listening skills, ask appropriate questions and take time to understand points being made.

Requirements

  • Must be RDMS certified in abdomen/obstetrics/gynecology and venous exams.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.

  • Must be AB and RVT certified by the ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
