Job Summary: Perform general and vascular imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries
Requirements
- Must be RDMS certified in abdomen/obstetrics/gynecology and venous exams.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- Have computer skills.
- Work well in a fast-paced setting.
- Be organized.
- Be detail oriented.
- Have communication skills.
- Have multi-tasking skills.
- Establish constructive working relationships with others at work and maintain them over time.
- Must demonstrate active listening skills, ask appropriate questions and take time to understand points being made.
- Must have experience in a clinical environment.
- Must be AB and RVT certified by the ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patient for imaging procedure
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation
- Monitor equipment operation and report malfunctioning equipment to manager
- Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body
- Move imaging equipment into specified position, determine exposure factors and adjust equipment controls to set proper exposure
- Process images and review for proper identification and quality control
- Prepare images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician
- Complete forms and maintain records, logs and reports of work performed
- Maintain the proper number of continuing education credits for licensing
- Perform the necessary computer/paper tasks related to patient care
- Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients
- Other duties as assigned
