About The Position

Position Overview Department: Gynecology Schedule: Multiple shifts available Part-time Day Full Time Mon - Thurs. 8:00am - 5:00pm, Fri 8:00am - 12:30pm PRN as needed Work Location: UAB St. Vincents Birmingham Benefits for eligible positions only include generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more What You Will Do Performs diagnostic procedures on on pregnant women and gynecological patients to monitor fetal development, diagnose medical conditions, and assist in treatment planning. Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures. Performs routine and complex studiesobstetric and gynecological ultrasound examinations using state-of-the-art equipment to create clear and accurate images of the female reproductive system, including fetal anatomy and development. and assists in a variety of imaging procedures. Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations. Analyze ultrasound images, identify abnormalities, and communicate findings to physicians and other healthcare providers to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning. Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate. Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history). Maintain accurate and detailed records of ultrasound procedures, patient information, and results in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department. Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies. Peforms other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or More of the following: Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. or a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) issued by (CCI) Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS) is accepted.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date
  • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program or related field.
