About The Position

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Ultrasound Sonographer for the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Health within the New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division Director, the Ultrasound Sonographer is responsible for performing ultrasounds on patients and all patients referred to the Maternal-Fetal Medicine provider, including basic OB sonograms, limited, specialized as well as umbilical cord doppler studies. Nice To Haves

• Maternal-Fetal Medicine experience with no less than 2 years in OB/ GYN sonography.
• RDMS certification in Fetal Echocardiograms.
• Current BLS or CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Identifies self to patient and explains procedures.
• Prepares patients for procedures and records medical histories relevant to conditions being evaluated.
• Appropriately completes all information in Viewpoint and files all information according to procedures.
• Ensures patient safety and comfort.
• Communicates and discusses ultrasound results with patients and care team members.
• Uses 2D and occasionally 3D ultrasounds to diagnose and evaluate patients.
