This position involves performing diagnostic Obstetric and Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) sonography procedures to assess fetal organs and hemodynamics, adhering to applicable standards and organizational policies. The Sonographer III is responsible for consistently performing commonly required obstetric procedures with proficiency, including all Level I & II procedures without support. Key tasks include assisting with fetal reduction, evaluating maternal uterus and adnexa, assessing fetal viability and early pregnancy location, determining fetal number and chorionicity/amnionicity, performing transvaginal cervical length evaluations, and assessing amniotic fluid volume. The role also involves evaluating placental location and appearance (including for placenta previa and accreta spectrum disorder), conducting first and second/third-trimester detailed anatomic surveys (including for multiple gestations), measuring nuchal translucency, evaluating fetal growth, monitoring monochorionic-diamniotic twin pregnancies for TTTS and TAPS, guiding amniocentesis procedures, performing biophysical profiles, and measuring various Doppler parameters (PR interval, umbilical artery, MCA, ductus venosus). The Sonographer III must also understand and properly apply ALARA, Doppler principles, and image optimization techniques.
