About The Position

Summary: The Merchant Solutions Consultant (MSC) is a strategic sales role focused on driving merchant services growth across the Texas region for companies $50MM or greater in annual sales. This individual will collaborate closely with Commercial Treasury Management Advisors (TMAs) and Relationship Managers (RMs) to integrate merchant solutions into broader credit and payments relationships. The MSC will also proactively prospect new business by leveraging data analytics, cultivating partnerships with centers of influence (COIs), and activating their expansive professional network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, finance or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of proven success in a sales and solutioning consultant or technical sales advisor role.
  • 4+ years in the Merchant/AR/AP space, targeting mid-market firms.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience in pre-sales or implementation of payment solutions is an advantage.
  • Banking experience and project management experience are beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with TMAs and RMs to identify merchant services opportunities within existing credit and treasury relationships.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on merchant solutions, guiding clients through tailored payment acceptance strategies.
  • Participate in joint client calls and strategic planning sessions to deepen relationships and uncover cross-sell opportunities.
  • Develop and execute a territory-specific prospecting strategy focused on high-potential verticals and geographies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with COIs including accountants, attorneys, consultants, and industry associations.
  • Use data and analytics to identify trends, target prospects, and personalize outreach efforts.
  • Leverage personal and professional networks to generate leads and referrals.
  • Represent the organization at local events, trade shows, and networking functions to build brand awareness and pipeline.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the Texas business community, positioning the company as a trusted merchant services provider.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to solution design, proposal, and close.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs related to revenue growth, client acquisition, and solution adoption.
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM and provide timely reporting on pipeline and performance.
