Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Candidate must meet ONE of the following: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; OR Relevant DoD/military training (example: SANS SEC545 (Cloud Security Architecture)); OR Relevant professional certification or equivalent experience (examples: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional; Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert; CISSP‑ISSAP).
  • Enterprise solution architecture, systems engineering, or platform engineering experience with at least 3 years in senior architecture roles.
  • Proven expertise in data architecture (DW/ETL/ELT), big‑data technologies (Spark/Hadoop), analytics stacks, and application architecture.
  • Hands‑on experience designing and deploying cloud solutions across AWS/Azure/GCP with attention to scalability, resiliency, and security.
  • Strong scripting/automation skills (Python, shell/CLI) and experience automating deployment, data workflows, and operational tasks.
  • Familiarity with DoDM 8140.03 DCWF role 651 expectations, RMF/ATO implications, and ITIL service management practices.
  • Ability to produce decision‑grade artifacts (architecture diagrams, roadmaps, COAs) and brief senior leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior DoD/ARNG enterprise architecture or solution delivery experience.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD for data/apps, observability for analytics platforms, and automation/orchestration toolchains.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient data analytics and application solutions to meet enterprise mission requirements.
  • Define baseline and target architectures, IT rules, and requirements spanning business, systems, and information domains.
  • Architect data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and big‑data platforms (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) to support analytics and operational workflows.
  • Develop cloud solution designs (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) that ensure scalability, resiliency, security, and operational sustainability across DEV/TEST/Stage/Prod/COOP environments.
  • Integrate COOP/COG continuity and performance objectives into architectural decisions; produce CONOPS, roadmaps, BOMs, and ROMs/COAs.
  • Drive automation and scripting (Python, CLI tools) to streamline deployment, orchestration, and data manipulation workflows.
  • Ensure solutions align with DoDM 8140.03 DCWF role 651 responsibilities and ITIL® 4 Managing Professional service management practices.
  • Validate architectures for RMF/ATO readiness, STIG/CSG application, and operational monitoring; support accreditation evidence and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, data, security, and operations teams to operationalize architectures, conduct design reviews, and enable sustainment.
