About The Position
SUMMARY: Perform a variety of Solid Waste and Recycling duties; must be able to physically pick up garbage, follow all routes (town and rural), assist with weekly maintenance and inspection of all equipment and vehicles, and perform monthly inventory as directed by supervisor. The hours are Monday-Thursday (Garbage days only). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES: Recording data on log sheets for solid waste pick up, assist the public with unloading and loading of solid waste and recyclable materials, Must be able to operate equipment and machinery, Must be able to maintain all equipment and machinery, Must be available for emergency situations as needed. On the non-garbage day; this day (Wednesday) will be used for the clean-up of Mother Earth. Other duties may be assigned. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must possess a High School Diploma or GED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, and/or REGISTRATIONS: Must have a valid Nebraska Driver's license and be insurable. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Duties that are assigned to the position include; lifting, bending, carrying, climbing, and twisting. These physical motions are generally utilized in this field of work. The job duties require to wear the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times; safety glasses, gloves, and vests and to work duties in different weather conditions that include; inside and outside. PLEASE NOTE: P.L. 93-638, Indian Preference and Tribal Employment rights Ordinance. (T.E.R.O) will be practiced; however, all qualified applicants will be considered.
